Growth
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005042
An irreversible increase in a measurable attribute of an organism, part of an organism, or a population of organisms over time. For populations, this increase is tracked by models describing changes in the number of individuals or total biomass. Exponential growth models a population with unlimited resources, while logistic growth incorporates environmental limits and a carrying capacity.
