Logistic growth
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006753
A pattern of population growth that occurs when resources are limited, leading to a deceleration of growth rate as the population size approaches the carrying capacity of the environment. This growth model is characterized by an S-shaped curve, where the population initially grows exponentially but then levels off. It is commonly observed in biological populations under constrained conditions.
