Carrying capacity
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001686
The maximum population size of a particular species that a given environment can sustain indefinitely, considering the available resources, habitat, food, water, and other necessities. This limit is determined by environmental factors that restrict population growth. When a population exceeds its carrying capacity, resource depletion and environmental degradation often occur.
