Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000427

Relating to the study of how biological measurements or processes scale with body size. This approach examines the quantitative relationships between an organism's size and its anatomical, physiological, or biochemical characteristics. Allometric scaling is often described by power laws, where a biological variable is proportional to body mass raised to an exponent.
