Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008722

The study of the time course of a substance and its metabolites within a living organism, encompassing the processes of absorption, distribution, metabolism (biotransformation), and excretion. It uses mathematical models to describe and predict the concentration of a drug or toxicant in the body over time following administration. The primary pharmacokinetic parameters include clearance, volume of distribution, and elimination half-life.
