Bioelimination
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001266
The irreversible removal of a substance from a living organism through metabolic transformation or excretion. This process reduces the concentration of xenobiotics or their metabolites within the body over time. Bioelimination rates are often characterized by a biological half-life, which is the time required for half of the substance to be eliminated.
