Metabolic half-life
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007237
The period in which metabolism alone converts half of the amount of a compound present in an organism, leaving loss by excretion out of account. It equals the elimination half-life only when metabolism is the sole route of clearance. Metabolic stability assays with liver microsomes or hepatocytes estimate it from the decline of the parent compound over time.
