Metabolic model
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007238
A quantitative description of how the body handles one specific substance, tracing the fraction absorbed, where it is stored, how fast it is broken down, what the metabolites become, and how quickly each organ eliminates the parent compound and its metabolites. In systems biology the same name is given to genome-scale reconstructions of a cell's reaction network that are used to simulate metabolic flux.
