Compartmental analysis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002299
A mathematical modeling technique used to describe the movement of substances within a biological system by dividing the system into a series of interconnected compartments. Each compartment represents a distinct physiological space or chemical form, and the transfer of a substance between these compartments is described by rate constants. This method is frequently applied in pharmacokinetics and toxicokinetics to analyze drug distribution and elimination.
