R-group decomposition
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013507
A computational method used in drug design to analyze the structural diversity of a chemical series by breaking down molecules into a common core scaffold and variable substituent groups (R-groups). This approach facilitates the systematic exploration of chemical space and the identification of structure-activity relationships. It is frequently applied in combinatorial chemistry and lead compound modification.
