Murcko assembly

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007699

A structural representation of a molecule that consists of its ring systems and the linkers connecting them, effectively removing all side chains. This core structure, also known as a Murcko framework or scaffold, is used to classify and analyze the diversity of chemical compounds. It provides a simplified view of molecular architecture for drug design.
