Muonium
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007698
An exotic atom consisting of a positive muon (an antimuon) and an electron, with the symbol Mu. It is chemically analogous to a light isotope of hydrogen, as the positive muon acts as the nucleus. Due to the muon's short lifetime of approximately 2.2 microseconds, muonium is unstable and is studied using techniques like muon spin rotation.
