Phosphorescence lifetime
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008787
The average time a molecule remains in its excited triplet state before undergoing phosphorescence, which is the emission of light. This value is determined by the rate constants of all deactivation processes from the triplet state, including radiative and non-radiative pathways. Phosphorescence lifetimes are typically much longer than fluorescence lifetimes, ranging from microseconds to several seconds.
