Radiative lifetime
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009844
The reciprocal of the sum of the unimolecular rate constants for all radiative transitions from a given excited state. This value represents the intrinsic lifetime of an excited state if only radiative processes were occurring. It is a theoretical maximum lifetime, often longer than the observed lifetime due to non-radiative decay pathways.
