Radiative transition
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009846
A process in which an atom, molecule, or ion changes its energy state by absorbing or emitting a photon. This involves the interaction of electromagnetic radiation with matter, leading to a change in the electronic, vibrational, or rotational energy levels. Examples include fluorescence, phosphorescence, and absorption of light.
