Photon

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008894

A quantum of electromagnetic radiation, representing the smallest discrete unit of light or other electromagnetic waves. It carries energy proportional to its frequency and travels at the speed of light in a vacuum. Photons have no rest mass and exhibit both wave-like and particle-like properties.
