Photomultiplier tube

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008893

A highly sensitive vacuum tube detector that amplifies weak light signals by converting photons into electrons and then multiplying these electrons through a series of dynodes. Each dynode emits multiple secondary electrons for every incident electron, resulting in a large current gain. This device is widely used in spectroscopy and other light detection applications.
