Scintillation detector

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010581

A device that measures ionizing radiation by converting the energy of incident radiation into light pulses. These light pulses are then detected by a photomultiplier tube, which converts them into electrical signals. The intensity of the light pulses is proportional to the energy of the absorbed radiation.
