Photoemissive detector
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008866
A type of radiation detector that operates on the principle of the photoelectric effect, where incident photons cause the emission of electrons from a photosensitive surface. These emitted electrons are then collected and amplified to produce an electrical signal proportional to the incident radiation intensity. Photomultiplier tubes are a common example of this detector type.
