Sensitive volume
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010742
The specific region within a radiation detector where energy deposition from incident radiation is effectively converted into a detectable electrical signal. This volume is often defined by the physical boundaries of the detector's active material. For gas-filled detectors, it corresponds to the gas volume where ionization events are collected.
