Intrinsic detector efficiency
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006028
The probability that a radiation detector will produce a detectable signal for each radiation quantum incident upon its sensitive volume. This efficiency is independent of the geometric arrangement between the source and the detector. It is a measure of the detector's inherent ability to respond to radiation.
