Intrinsic photopeak efficiency

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006034

The probability that a photon of a specific energy, upon entering the sensitive volume of a detector, will deposit all of its energy within that volume, leading to a count in the photopeak. This efficiency is independent of the geometric arrangement of the source and detector. It is a key metric for gamma-ray spectrometry.
