Intrinsic full energy peak efficiency
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006032
A measure of a radiation detector's ability to convert incident gamma-ray photons into a full-energy peak signal, independent of any external shielding or geometry. It represents the probability that a photon entering the detector volume will deposit its entire energy within the detector, resulting in a count in the full-energy peak. This efficiency is typically expressed as a percentage and varies with photon energy and detector material.
