Absolute counting efficiency

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000051

The ratio of the number of detected events to the total number of disintegration events occurring in a radioactive source within a specified time interval. This efficiency accounts for all losses due to detector geometry, absorption, and intrinsic detector response. It is a dimensionless quantity, often expressed as a percentage.
