Counting rate

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002645

The number of radiation detection events recorded by a detector per unit of time. This rate is a direct measure of the intensity of the radiation source and is typically expressed in counts per second (cps) or counts per minute (cpm). It is a fundamental parameter in radiometric analysis for quantifying radioactive samples.
