Absolute counting

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000050

A method of radioactivity measurement that determines the disintegration rate of a radioactive source without reference to a known standard. This technique involves accounting for all factors that affect the detection efficiency, such as detector geometry and self-absorption. It yields the true activity of the sample in becquerels (Bq).
