Radioactivity

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009871

The spontaneous emission of radiation from the unstable nuclei of certain atoms, resulting in their transformation into more stable nuclei. This process involves the release of alpha particles, beta particles, gamma rays, or other forms of energy. The activity of a radioactive sample is measured in becquerels (Bq) or curies (Ci).
