Radioactivity
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008342
The spontaneous emission of radiation from the nucleus of an unstable atom, resulting in its transformation into a different atomic nucleus. This process releases energy in the form of alpha particles, beta particles, gamma rays, or other subatomic particles.
