Radioallergosorbent test
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009872
An in vitro diagnostic test used to detect and quantify specific immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies in a patient's blood serum, indicating an allergic sensitization to particular allergens. The test involves incubating the patient's serum with allergen-coated solid phases, followed by a radiolabeled anti-IgE antibody. The amount of bound radioactivity correlates with the concentration of specific IgE antibodies.
