Serum

The clear, yellowish fluid portion of blood that remains after blood coagulation and the removal of cellular components and clotting factors. It contains proteins, electrolytes, hormones, antibodies, and other dissolved substances. Serum is widely used in diagnostic tests and for therapeutic purposes, such as in serology.
