Protein-free filtrate
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009590
The liquid portion of a biological fluid, such as blood plasma or serum, from which all or most proteins have been removed. This separation is achieved through methods like precipitation with trichloroacetic acid, ultrafiltration, or dialysis. The resulting filtrate contains small molecules like glucose, electrolytes, and metabolic waste products, making it suitable for their analysis without protein interference.
