Radiation counter
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013469
An instrument designed to detect and quantify ionizing radiation by converting the energy of incident radiation into a measurable electrical signal. It operates by interacting with radiation particles or photons, leading to ionization events within a sensitive volume. Common types include Geiger-Müller counters and proportional counters, which differ in their operating voltage and signal amplification mechanisms.
