Radiation continuum
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009821
A continuous distribution of electromagnetic radiation emitted or absorbed over a broad range of wavelengths, rather than at discrete lines or bands. This type of spectrum arises from processes such as blackbody radiation or free-free transitions of electrons in a plasma. It lacks the sharp features characteristic of atomic or molecular transitions.
