Spectral band
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011121
A continuous range of wavelengths or frequencies within an electromagnetic spectrum, often associated with molecular transitions. These bands are broader than spectral lines and are characteristic of vibrational and rotational energy levels in molecules. The position, shape, and intensity of spectral bands provide information about the chemical structure and environment of a substance.
