Raman band
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009908
A peak or feature observed in a Raman spectrum, corresponding to a specific vibrational mode of a molecule. These bands arise from inelastic scattering of incident light by molecular vibrations, resulting in a shift in the scattered light's frequency. The position, intensity, and shape of Raman bands provide structural and compositional information about the sample.
