Spectral bandwidth

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011122

The range of wavelengths or frequencies that are passed by a monochromator or filter, or that are effectively detected by a spectrometer. It quantifies the spectral purity of the light used for illumination or collected for analysis. This parameter is typically measured as the full width at half maximum (FWHM) of the instrument's bandpass function.
