Bandpass filter

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001109

An optical filter that transmits light within a specific range of wavelengths while blocking or attenuating light outside this range. It is characterized by a central wavelength and a bandwidth, which defines the spectral region of transmission. These filters are widely used in spectroscopy and photochemistry to isolate particular spectral regions for analysis or excitation.
