Liquid crystal tunable filter

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006676

An optical filter that uses liquid crystal technology to electronically select a specific wavelength or narrow band of wavelengths from a broader spectrum of light. The liquid crystal's birefringence is controlled by an applied voltage, allowing for rapid and precise adjustment of the transmitted wavelength. These filters are used in hyperspectral imaging and spectroscopy.
