Attenuance filter
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000928
An optical filter designed to reduce the intensity of incident radiation over a specific range of wavelengths without significantly altering its spectral distribution. This type of filter is characterized by its attenuance, which is the negative logarithm of the transmittance. It is commonly used to control light levels in spectroscopic experiments.
