Attenuance
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000927
A measure of the reduction in radiant power of an electromagnetic wave as it passes through a medium, resulting from absorption, scattering, or luminescence. It quantifies the total loss of light intensity due to all these processes combined. This quantity is dimensionless and is often expressed as a logarithm.
