Optical filter

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008270

A device that selectively transmits light of certain wavelengths while blocking others. Filters are used to modify the spectral distribution of light, either by absorption, reflection, or interference. They are characterized by their transmission spectrum, which indicates the percentage of light transmitted at each wavelength.
