Inner filter effect
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005881
The attenuation of incident or emitted light in a spectroscopic experiment due to absorption by the sample itself or other components in the solution. This phenomenon can lead to a non-linear relationship between analyte concentration and measured signal intensity. It is particularly relevant in fluorescence spectroscopy, where both excitation and emission light can be absorbed.
