Excitation spectrum

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004185

A plot of the intensity of emitted light (fluorescence or phosphorescence) as a function of the excitation wavelength, while monitoring a fixed emission wavelength. It typically mirrors the absorption spectrum of the fluorophore. This spectrum provides information about the wavelengths of light that are absorbed by a molecule to reach an excited state.
