Phosphoroscope
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013392
An optical instrument designed to measure the phosphorescence lifetime of a sample by mechanically separating the excitation light from the emitted phosphorescence. It uses rotating choppers or shutters to allow excitation and emission to occur at different times. This separation prevents the much faster fluorescence from interfering with phosphorescence detection.
