Optically detected magnetic resonance

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008284

A spectroscopic technique that combines optical excitation and detection with microwave irradiation to study the magnetic properties of excited electronic states, particularly triplet states. Changes in the microwave absorption or emission are detected as changes in the intensity or polarization of emitted light, such as fluorescence or phosphorescence. This method provides information about spin states and molecular structure in excited states.
