Optically nonlinear polymer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008286
A polymer material that exhibits a non-linear response to intense electromagnetic radiation, meaning its optical properties, such as refractive index or absorption coefficient, change with the intensity of the incident light. This behavior is due to the interaction of light with the electronic structure of the polymer. Such polymers are used in photonics and optical switching devices.
