Optical constants
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008268
Physical properties of a material that describe its interaction with electromagnetic radiation, specifically light. These constants include the refractive index and the absorption index, which together determine how light propagates through, reflects from, and is absorbed by the material. They are wavelength-dependent and are often represented as complex numbers.
