Photo- technique

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008788

A prefix for a thermal analysis method in which a sample is deliberately irradiated with light during the measurement. The physical property being measured, such as mass, temperature, or dimension, is recorded as a function of temperature or time while under this optical stimulation. For example, photocalorimetry measures heat flow changes induced by light, and photodilatometry measures dimensional changes.
