Photo-irritation

A non-immunological, acute inflammatory response of the skin to a chemical substance after exposure to light, usually ultraviolet A (UVA) radiation. This reaction is dose-dependent and resembles a severe sunburn. It occurs when a phototoxic chemical absorbs light and generates reactive oxygen species that damage cells.
