Dermal irritation

A localized inflammatory response of the skin to direct contact with a chemical substance, characterized by redness, swelling, itching, or pain. This reaction does not involve an immune system sensitization but is a direct toxic effect on skin cells. It is a common endpoint in toxicology studies for assessing chemical safety.
